As we start afresh in 2012, my prayer is that we would exercise our faith muscle more than ever before, so that together we can accomplish phenomenal things for Christ. Business Does Not Equal Obedience

When I think back to my college days at Trinity, it seems like a different lifetime – or someone else’s lifetime, at least. In reality, I was walking across the stage to receive my diploma only five years ago. My wife, Bethany, and I have been ministering to teenagers at Layton Chapel Baptist Church in Spring Lake, North Carolina since June of 2007, and let me say that the ministry has been challenging and enjoyable, taxing and fruitful, monotonous, yet always surprising. Have you ever been in a place so thoroughly pagan that you could feel the darkness? Looking into the eyes of people who have never heard the name of Jesus is an experience I will never forget, and the joy of being the chosen vessel to speak that matchless name to people for the first time has no equal. More than a decade of laboring in the remote jungle of South America has brought home to me the need for focus, strategy, and passion to spread God’s glory among the nations. If I have learned one thing, we have grown far too comfortable with the idea that we have time to wait. From the places I have been around the world, I don’t see that we have the luxury of time. Mark Your Calendars!

You will not want to miss TBC’s Graduation Conference this year! It will be May 2-5, 2012. On May 2, it begins with a Senior Honors Chapel where we will recognize members of the graduating class and hear from some of them. That evening at 6:30 P.M, the service at Trinity Baptist Church will feature TBC students, including the outstanding student preacher. On the afternoon of May 3, there will be an Alumni Ladies Tea. In the evening you will be treated to a concert showcasing the gifted students at TBC.  Alumni Day is on May 4.

If you will not be attending the LeaderCast, please join us for the Graduation Celebration Picnic, Alumni/Faculty vs. Student softball game, President’s Reception, and Baccalaureate. During the President’s Reception, we will welcome the 2012 graduating class as the newest alumni and recognize our alumnus of the year. Graduation is the following day, May 5. Hotel accommodations can be made at the Fairfield Inn at Chaffee Pointe. Trinity has a discounted rate of $79 per night. Simply mention Trinity when booking your room.
