Dear Friends of Trinity
Baptist College:
November 1 was our 2nd
annual homecoming celebration for TBC. The weekend kicked off with a
message from Greg Peters (’92) during our chapel.
During
the service we announced our Alumna of the Year for 2013. This year’s
recipient was Denise Riffle (’82). Not only has Mrs. Riffle taught at
Trinity Christian Academy for 32 years, but she has also been a loyal
supporter of Trinity Baptist College during that time. She and her
husband, Dennis (’81), faithfully attend our alumni events as well as
interact with current students. She is an excellent example of a
devoted alumna.
Also noteworthy are the
winners from this year’s Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament. The winning
team was Bob Baxley, Jim Kilpatrick, Ken Kilpatrick, and Greg Mann
(’95).
I want to thank everyone
that came to our events or donated towards them. We couldn’t have an
alumni program without faithful attendees and financial donors. Thank
you for your support!
I hope that you have a blessed Thanksgiving!

“Wherever
you are, be all there.” –Jim Elliot
To wake up every day and be able to work at that for which God has
given me a passion is truly a great blessing. I am now in my 14th year
of teaching elementary school. When I stepped onto the McDuff campus
of Trinity in 1996, I could never have imagined all that God would
allow me to do.

A Perspective on Education Today
It is no surprise to any active
observers how poor the state of education is in America today. Whether
it be in test scores, news reports, teachers’ salaries, student life,
or any other indicators, there is ample evidence illustrating a
breakdown in education on all levels from elementary to college.
However, it is not merely in the public school systems of America
where we find such problems. Indeed, educational quality seems to be
dropping in Christian circles as well.
