LeaderCast Coming to TBC

TBC is hosting a simulcast site for the Chik-Fil-A Leadercast© as part of the activities of the Graduation Conference on May 4. This leadership event will feature John Maxwell, Tim Tebow, Urban Meyer, and others considered leaders in their fields. Register now.

Dear Friends of Trinity Baptist College

This month spring arrived; the weather is warmer, the grass is greener, and the birds have begun their singing again. I love how God gives us the beauty of spring after a bleak, cold winter. Anne Bradstreet said, “If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.” If you are experiencing a “winter” time period in your life, if your life circumstances are wearing you down, just as spring always comes, so will your joy. Isaiah 51:11 states, “Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.” May your sorrow cease and your singing begin again.

Alumni Spotlight: Will Howell (09)

I (Jenny) asked Will Howell to share his story with our alumni. He has worked as Trinity’s graphic designer for the last six years. During that time, he graduated from the college with his Bachelor’s degree, and also from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary with his Master of Divinity degree. He has designed all the printed material for Trinity, including The Specialist. Will not only has been working for Trinity, but he has also been the youth pastor at Biltmore Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL for two and a half years. Will is now a full-time youth pastor at Faith Baptist Church of Mandarin, alumnus Andy Pietrylo’s church.

Practical Wisdom
- Matthew Heavener, Trinity Ministries' Director of Development

You have graduated from college, are out in ministry and now you may even be the one “calling the shots.” How you respond to challenges in your organization will impact how it moves forward. One of the most powerful tools to an organization is a policy. Policies and their counterpart procedures are essential to mitigating risk and creating efficiencies within an organization. Policies exist on important issues like “how employees should deal with minors” to less important ones like “how many pencils an employee is authorized to have at one time.” A biology professor of mine once explained that anything taken to an extreme was poisonous. He demonstrated this with the example of the most essential item to human survival, fresh water. It would only take three days to die from dehydration if water was not available. However, if it surrounds you, you will drown. While God’s grace is an exception to this rule, policies are not. Even though the value of policies is undeniable, like most things, too many are poisonous....Read more
