Trinity Welcomes Largest New Student Class in College History
This fall marks a record-breaking
year for Trinity Baptist College, as it welcomes the largest class of
new students in the college’s 41 year history. Perhaps just as
incredible, Trinity’s new student enrollment has more than doubled
since 2010.
Michael Heavener and Melissa
Gibson share responsibilities as Admissions Directors and are quick to
point to a culture of teamwork at TBC when asked about the recent
success. Heavener
concluded that “better use of technology and newly designed marketing
materials to better communicate our advantages, along with the
addition of new academic and athletic programs were contributing
factors that helped make this our most successful year ever in
recruiting. Our admissions guides worked tirelessly and were energized
by the increased support they received from our administrative staff,
trustees and faculty. We are thankful that God used such a great team
to bring us the new students.”
Other significant additions to
Trinity’s recruiting strategy included more representation at local
events. Additionally, incoming students appreciated the extra effort
to provide them with personalized webpages, while both students and
parents related well to Trinity’s new theme, “Intentionally
Different,” stressing Christian values, affordability, location, and
student-teacher relationships.
New academic programs such as
Christian Counselling and Business Management and Ethics are
attracting more students.
Additionally, Trinity has seen a 67% new student increase in its
ministry programs since 2012. While Trinity welcomes students into its
expanding athletic programs, which have increased from two sports to
six in three years, the college is also growing in its traditional
student population.
Enrollment of “non-student-athletes” has grown by nearly 30% since
2011, including a 15% increase over last year.
Heavener noted that “Trinity is quickly turning into the top
choice for many students seeking an accredited Christian degree in a
close-knit, personal environment.”
With its growing
number of applicants, TBC is poised for more growth. Others are
recognizing the impact the college is making, as Trinity was recently
named a “Top Ranked College” by the Jacksonville Business Journal.
Growing support from local, state and national leaders seem to confirm
that TBC is becoming a new favorite college for many… and certainly
for the members of the record-breaking new student class.
