Homecoming 2013 ~ January 25-26
Homecoming was kicked off with Ed Stetzer, President of LifeWay Research, preaching in chapel. Immediately following the service was
the Trinity Baptist College Alumni Golf Tournament at Bent Creek.
Pastor Tom Messer’s team was the winner. His team included alumnus
Pastor Dale Hardy (’92), Jim Kilpatrick, Executive Director of the
Trinity Rescue Mission, and Verlon Dorminey, TCA football coach. While
the men were golfing, some of the ladies went to the St. Johns Town
Center to shop and have lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and shopping.
On Saturday was the Alumni vs. NIT team basketball game. The alumni
came close, but in the end were defeated by the NIT team with a final
score of 70 to 78. Later that day was the Hall of Fame Induction
introduced by Athletic Director John Jones. The honorees were Dr.
Charles Davis, who implemented the basketball program at Trinity, Jon
Milligan (’99), former player and current assistant coach, and former
player Ryan Cosson (’06). A highlight for the students was the
homecoming court with representatives from each society and three
senior men and women. The 2013 Homecoming Mr. TBC and Ms. TBC were
James Robinson and Katie MacNaughton, chosen by their peers for
outstanding Christian character and leadership.
