I hope that you are
enjoying the start of the fall season! In this month's newsletter, you
will hear about Jacob Leporraci. He is an alumnus who teaches at
TBC
and recently took on the task of directing and scheduling LifeSong, our
college singing group. He and his wife, Maylynn, are very gifted
singers and musicians.
For our Alumni Spotlight, I asked Michael Peluyera, who recently
returned from
China, to share
some of his life-changing experiences. As soon as Michael returned, he
jumped right in serving in AWANA and the Bus Ministry. He is an alumnus
who truly walks the talk.
As for the Campus Happenings, I want everyone to know what is going on
at TBC,
not just the alumni activities, but also our current student
activities. If you have any questions or comments, or you have an
alumnus you would like to nominate for the Spotlight, please email me
at
alumni@tbc.edu.
God Bless,
Jenny Stanley

Campus Happenings
James Robinson and Jonathan Kendra
at the Labor Day weekend Slip'N'Slide. |
College is not all about studying.
Trinity Baptist College offers students many outlets for
entertainment. Labor Day weekend is the first break that students have
after coming to school. The students stay busy with Society sponsored
activities including a cookout, movie night, and various games. Many
friendships have been created every year during this holiday weekend.
One of the highlights of student life is Intramurals. In the fall
semester, the sport is softball. Captains take it |
seriously as they pick their
teams in a draft at the beginning of the semester. This year the
faculty was included in the draft, so it is no longer Students vs
Faculty.

A Year of Teaching in China:
Michael Peluyera (08)
Mike Peluyera in China; about to play soccer. |
Living in China was completely
different than anything I have ever experienced. It was the
greatest experience I have ever had. Some of the things the Lord
taught me there were things that I probably would not have learned
in America. To protect those who are still there, I cannot give
any names, where I worked, and in what city I was living. Before I
left to move to China, I asked the Lord to teach me what it really
means to be filled with the Holy Spirit. |
I had the
opportunity to do a Bible study on the subject, and I was able to
preach what I had learned to my fellow teammates.
