Dear Friends of Trinity
Baptist College:
We are less than two
months away from our homecoming weekend. Call, text, email, and
Facebook your friends and invite them to join you at this year’s
event. We had a contest on Facebook on September 11 and gave away a
Homecoming 2013 t-shirt to the first person registering after I made
the post. The winner was Romeo Cerico (’09). Since all of you may not
have Facebook, I will extend the contest to the newsletter.
The first
person that registers for homecoming after the newsletter is emailed
will receive a FREE t-shirt.
Some of you may not be able to attend, but
would like to donate. The registration page has a place to
donate. Register Here.
I am looking forward to
what we have planned, and I hope that you will be there to join me!

Spiritual
Emphasis Week ~ Fall 2013
Speaker:
Pastor Doug Rife (’00)
- Lead Pastor at Temple Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX
There is no better way to start off the semester than with an emphasis
on God, our depravity, and our ultimate responsibility. Pastor and
alumnus Doug Rife (’00) spoke for Spiritual Emphasis Week on the theme
“New Creation.”
His theme verse was II Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in
Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all
things are become new.” Pastor Rife had each person evaluate where he
or she was spiritually because, “New life should be growing in you.
The gospel is an ongoing work.” The students were left with the
challenge to live out their faith, a challenge that we all need.
If
you would like to listen to Pastor Rife’s messages from Spiritual
Emphasis Week, you can do so
here.

When
I came back to the states after spending close to three months in
Tanzania, Africa in 2010, had you asked me if I would ever go back to
Africa, I would probably have said something like, "I'm not really
sure, maybe not." When I returned I wasn't sure if I wanted to go
back. East Africa is so drastically different from America... life is
hard! But over time my heart began to be drawn to Africa again. God
did not leave me alone about it. I was experiencing this
discontentment that would not be satisfied in anything, and I knew it
was coming straight from Him. I could feel it, that He wanted me to
return to Africa. But this time, He didn't want me to just go for a
little while. I felt God calling me to return to Africa for a year or
longer to work with children - specifically, the abandoned and
orphaned children - a work I have been particularly burdened about.

Disc Golf Course Addition
Thanks to
the help from one of Trinity’s professors, Dr. Jim Buckner, TBC
now has a disc golf course. The course extends from the front of
campus all the way to the
college side.
The course has already brought people
from the community onto our campus who otherwise would not be here. Due
to its initial success, plans are already underway to develop a second
course.
