The Specialist

Dear Friends of Trinity Baptist College

It is January of 2013, a time when individuals set goals for the coming year; personal, financial, spiritual, etc. It is my hope and prayer that we would all determine to be better alumni of Trinity Baptist College. Listed below are ten ways to be a good alumnus for TBC.

1. Pray for Trinity Baptist College.
2. Keep your address, phone number, e-mail address, career,
    education, and family additions up-to-date.
3. Display your diploma in your home or office.
4. Wear Trinity shirts and/or display car decals.
5. Encourage other alumni to stay in touch.
6. Recruit students.
7. Contribute to the Alumni Association each year.
8. Read The Specialist, monthly e-newsletters, the college website,
    and special mail.
9. Come back for homecoming and other special events and bring
    others.
10. Nominate fellow alumni to be spotlighted.

Happy New Year to you, and I hope to see you on January 25 for our  homecoming!

Homecoming 2013 - January 25-26

We are quickly approaching the deadline to register for Homecoming 2013. The deadline is Friday, January 18. You will not want to miss all the events planned and the opportunity to visit with other alumni and current students. Whether you live locally or out of state, we would love for you to attend. The price for the weekend is $25 a person, which includes a catered dinner on Friday evening at the home of Gary (‘91) and Erika (‘95) Judd, and all of the games on Saturday. Golfing for the men can be added for an additional $65, which includes a boxed lunch. Proceeds go to the Alumni Association. If you are unable to attend the golf tournament, you can sponsor a hole for $50. To view the complete schedule and to register and pay for the event, click here. Further details will be emailed to alumni who have registered.

Alumni Spotlight: Kevin Burns (’01)
- Youth Pastor at Pole Creek Baptist Church in Candler, NC

It is a great privilege and honor to highlight how God is at work in our lives here in Western North Carolina. My journey in student ministry began when I graduated in 2001 from Trinity Baptist College. God immediately opened the door for me to serve at Eagle’s View Academy in Jacksonville as a Bible teacher and a basketball coach. I am very grateful for the many friendships and relationships that were built, and the lives that were influenced and impacted for His kingdom.
